About

Sergio Paul is a Philadelphia based, classically trained composer, audio engineer, and sound designer who has spent over 11 years honing his craft. Hailing from York, PA, his experiences range from running recording sessions, mixing, and mastering as an audio engineer for Spencer Studios in Lancaster, PA, to composing original orchestral scores to be performed by the Temple University Community Orchestra. As an undergraduate Music Technology Student at Temple University, Sergio has studied with names such as world-renowned Jazz saxophonist Tim Warfield, to critically acclaimed composer Patrick De Caumette.

Debuting with his first two original EPs in Summer, 2024, Sergio composes under the name Vaughan Sankofa. Pulling from years of experience playing in the midst of high-level symphony orchestras, as well as immersing himself in the study of the game and film industry's best soundtracks, Sergio is able to compose in a wide range of genres--From Jazz to Orchestral, to Pop, Rock, and more.

Audio Engineer Intern

  • Coordinated and conducted live recording sessions for over 20 vocalists in a range of genres to produce high-quality audio files

  • Mixed and mastered over 30 tracks to build proficiency with Pro Tools software

  • Interacted and negotiated with clientele to support studio profits and maintain client satisfaction

Media and Audio Technology Intern

  • Practiced live mixing twice weekly on an Allen & Heath SQ-7 Soundboard. Conducted sound checks and maintained audio equipment

  • Removed and sold obsolete audio equipment from retired setup, re-installed subwoofers and amplifiers into the currently used space

  • Created an in-depth manual on the procedures involved in working with the media of the church, including proper live-mixing techniques, slideshow and livestreaming practices, and proper lighting setup

Work as an Independent Artist 

  • Tribute to The Fool: A 5-part string orchestral piece written for and performed by Temple University "Owlchestra" with Sergio as the concertmaster. A four movement score of re-imagined pieces that Sergio wrote throughout his earlier years as a composer.

  • Voyagers Concept OST: Composed, recorded, mixed and mastered a four song EP of game soundtrack inspired music based off of an original story.

  • CATS ON STRINGS: Composed, recorded, mixed, and mastered a multi-genre 4 song EP featuring electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, and violin.
