Game, Film, Media

Sergio Paul, who composes under the name Vaughan Sankofa, is a film, video game, and media composer, as well as an audio engineer and sound designer. As a composer, he's collaborated on extensive projects, ranging from documentaries to short films, to live performed orchestral scores and even 48 hour film productions. As an audio engineer, he has both professional experience as a recording studio audio engineer, as well as experience working in Hollywood in sound post production. As an independent artist, he also records, mixes, masters, and releases his own music in a range of genres. In creating music, he seeks to bridge the gap between traditional instrumental music and the soundtrack genre to change the way that listeners view soundtrack as a genre of music.

Sergio is a classically and jazz trained violinist who has been playing music for over 12 years. What began as a love for video game soundtracks and the orchestral soundscape has led him to study violin performance in a multitude of genres. He now frequently plays live events, parties, and weddings as a musician for hire.

DRAIN (2025)
The entirety of this film's Audio Post Production--from the Soundtrack to each individual sound effect--was recorded, produced, and edited by Sergio.
Directed by Aidan MacIlvaine, this short film follows the story of a man driven to vengeance after exploring the mysterious death of his sister. It has a heavy focus on combat choreography, and as a result, sound design and score played a central role in crafting the mood of the film. See the making process here.
